Our Feeds

It took a few trys and then a phone call from my resident expert- the usual state of affairs for me- but our mutual del.ici.ous feeds are now displayed in the sidebar.

Here’s what worked:

1. From the WordPress dashboard, Presentation, Sidebar Widgets

2. Drag the RSS widget to Sidebar 1.

3. In del.ici.ous click on our agreed tag “NACEtech”

4. At the top of the screen click on “view all” which shows all del.ici.ous items with this tag.

5. Scroll down to the bottom and right click on the “RSS feed for this page” icon.

6. Back to WordPress, click on the RSS1 widget in the sidebar and paste the RSS code you just saved.

7. Give it a title and say how many items you want displayed. I chose 10. This can be changed at any point.

NACEtech is a unique tag to Chris, Carol and myself right now. But if folks in the workshop use it during an exercise there items will display in the sidebar too, which could be a cool way of showing how collaboration happens via social bookmarking tools.
